Association Management

Utility Business Media (UBM) serves as the association manager for the Utility Safety & Operations Leadership Network (USOLN). The USOLN was created in 2009 out of the need for utility safety and operations personnel to network, share ideas and and professionally develop in order to build strong safety cultures within their utility work environments. The organization is a 501c6 corporation. Today over 700 individuals benefit from their membership in the USOLN. Member organizations include investor-owned utilities, co-ops, municipal providers and contractors providing services to the utility industry.

UBM is proud to have been a founding member and is a continuing supporter of the Utility Safety and Operations Leadership Network (USOLN) along with the Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) certification program. The CUSP certification program, produced by the Incident Prevention Institute (iPi), is the only program that offers industry-specific safety credentials to utilities, related contractors and communication providers. A color-designated program geared towards individual growth and increased value for employers supports the certification process. The review and exam are held at multiple locations throughout the year.
